The Hanshin Tigers clinched their first Central League baseball title in 18 years and their sixth overall with a 4-3 win Thursday over the archrival Yomiuri Giants.
The Tigers, unbeaten so far in September, extended their winning streak to a season-high 11 games and improved their record to 80-44 with four ties.
