Country singer Kelsea Ballerini and boyfriend, actor Chase Stokes, shared a kiss at MTV’s Video Music Awards on Tuesday.
The couple chose to attend the VMAs matching the red carpet at the music event. While Ballerini wore a stunning red floor-length gown, Stokes wore a coat of the same shade of red as Ballerini’s dress over a silky black shirt and white slacks.
The “This Feeling” singer and Outer Banks actor first sparked dating rumors in January this year after they were seen at the College Football Playoff National Championship in Los Angeles together.
The following month, Ballerini confirmed those rumors after she asked if she was single, to which she answered, “No.” She then proceeded to provide details on how she approached Stokes via Instagram DM.
Although their relationship had already been confirmed, they didn’t make their official red-carpet debut as a couple until April at the Country Music Awards in Texas.
In June, a video of Ballerini running offstage to kiss Stokes during a Seattle concert of her Heartfirst Tour circulated on the internet. Asked about the sweet moment, Ballerini told the TODAY show that it was “nice to feel so supported and seen.”
“He’s such a wonderful, wonderful human being,” she gushed.

The pair’s kiss wasn’t the only highlight of Ballerini’s night, though, as it was her 30th birthday and her first time performing for the VMA’s.
Ballerini’s performance was just as memorable for the audience as it was for her when they were left speechless after she did a quick wardrobe change while singing her hit song “Penthouse,” revealing a black mini dress underneath her long white gown.
Prior to Stokes, Ballerini was married to fellow country singer Morgan Evans for five years before their divorce.
