Football: Teenage sub Tawaratsumida clinches FC Tokyo win over Tosu

Late substitute Kota Tawaratsumida scored in the 87th minute to give FC Tokyo a 3-2 win over visiting Sagan Tosu in the J-League first division Saturday.

Trailing 2-0 at the break, the hosts drew level thanks to goals from Adailton and Ryoma Watanabe before Tawaratsumida broke the deadlock at Ajinomoto Stadium with his maiden J1 goal.

The 19-year-old winger tapped home near the back post after Tosu stopper Park Il Gyu parried a shot from Watanabe across the area.

Tosu had the better of the early exchanges and took the lead on Yoichi Naganuma's 18th-minute volley, which was upheld after a video review for offside.

They went up 2-0 in the 32nd minute when Cayman Togashi converted from the penalty spot after he was brought down in the area by FC Tokyo defender Henrique Trevisan.

Adailton headed home from Kashif Bangnagande's ball into the box in the 54th minute and was also involved with Watanabe's equalizer five minutes later.

The Brazilian's header flew into the chest of the midfielder, who scored from directly in front.

FC Tokyo manager Peter Cklamovski introduced Tawaratsumida for Adailton in the 78th minute, and the substitute quickly made his presence felt as he sparked wild celebrations with the winning goal.

"We had some tough moments, and I'm really happy I was able to score the winning goal at the end," said Tawaratsumida, whose goal secured FC Tokyo's first win in five games. "Coming into the game with the score level, I really felt like I wanted to do something."

In other J1 action, Albirex Niigata beat visiting Yokohama FC 3-1, while Nagoya Grampus were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Consadole Sapporo.
