Counter-Strike is known for its intense mechanical gameplay as well as its incredibly lucrative skin market. Gamers amass collections worth millions from opening cases as well as purchasing rare skins from other accounts.

To nobody’s surprise, xQc decided to open cases when he started playing Counter-Strike 2. He spent over $10,000 but the bet seriously paid off.

Forty minutes into opening cases, xQc opened a rare Karambit skin that’s worth over $1.5 million on the Counter-Strike marketplace. This is definitely a W for xQc, but it’s nothing compared to how much Valve has made from case openings.

In under an hour, Counter-Strike 2 has earned Valve over $40 million from case openings. The hype is real and it’s not slowing down any time soon.
