Tinder to let family and friends suggest matches

Tinder is letting family and friends of users suggest potential partners.

The company will add the Matchmaker feature to the app in the coming months, which allows users to give access to their potential partners to up to 15 friends over 24 hours, even if those people do not have a Tinder account.

The feature, however, does not permit those people to message the matches and the user will be able to review their recommendations once the 24 hours have passed.

In a statement, Tinder's chief marketing officer Melissa Hobley said: "For years, singles have asked their friends to help find their next match on Tinder, and now we're making that so easy with Tinder Matchmaker.

"Tinder Matchmaker brings your circle of trust into your dating journey and helps you see the possibilities you might be overlooking from the perspective of those closest to you."

The new feature is being rolled out in the UK and a range of other countries over the next few months.
