Here comes the bride! Kurt Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, and Tony Hawk's son Riley Hawk tied the knot on October 7 in Los Angeles after obtaining a marriage license in September from San Diego County, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
The duo even had Frances' godfather, R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe officiate the ceremony.
Frances, 31, confirmed her relationship with Riley, 30, in February 2022 via Instagram. “I wanted to share a few moments that were captured / created this past year that brought me a great amount of joy,” she wrote at the time, adding that was trying to be “more in the present moment” more than ever.
Frances, whose mom is Courtney Love, was previously married to Isaiah Silva from 2014 to 2017.
At the time, the wedding was so small that Love wasn't even invited.
“Courtney loves Isaiah, but was devastated to learn that Frances had gotten married without her knowing,” a source told E! News. “Courtney really likes Isaiah and is very happy for Frances. Courtney is sad she wasn’t at the wedding.”
“Frances called her after, but [she] understands why she did it. Frances needs a man in her life and has always craved stability. She’s found it in Isaiah,” the source added. “This has not caused a rift between mom and daughter. Courtney was sad, but she’s cool, and Isaiah is a great son-in-law.”
It seems like Frances is in a much better place now, as she celebrated a milestone last year.
"30 !!! I made it!" she wrote in August 2022 via social media. "Honestly, 20 year old Frances wasn't sure that was going to happen. At the time, an intrinsic sense of deep self loathing dictated by insecurity, destructive coping mechanisms & more trauma than my body or brain knew how to handle, informed how I saw myself and the world; through a lens of resentment for being brought into a life that seemingly attracted so much chaos and the kind of pain tied to grief that felt inescapable."

She continued, "Then, an event on a plane which brought me closer in proximity to death is ironically the event that catapulted me towards running at this lived experience with radical gratitude. I’m glad to have proven myself wrong & to have found ways to transform pain into knowledge."
Frances then said she was excited for what comes next.
"Entering this new decade I hope to stay soft no matter how hardening the world can feel at times, bask in the present moment with reverence, shower the people I am lucky enough to love with more appreciation than words could ever do justice & hold space to keep learning, so the growth never stops. I’m happy to be here & I’m happy you’re here too. ❤️🔥 ☀️ 🦋," she declared.
