2023 marks the end of the production for the legendary Chevrolet Camaro muscle car, as 2024 model year production will close before Christmas. That being said, fans of the car have gotten a few opportunities to get a special version of the Camaro, be it the Collector’s Edition or the Garage 56 Edition. However, that’s about it, which is a bit disappointing when looking at how Dodge is sending off its current iteration of the Charger and Challenger. Of course, with the help of aftermarket companies and them offering their unique versions for the final model, Camaro fans still have a chance to get something extraordinary. That said, while Chevrolet has stated that this is “not the end of the Camaro’s story,” it’s safe to say that it will be, at least for a long while.
Rumors have spread that there will be a Camaro EV sedan to fight the Tesla or even a Camaro SUV as General Motors turns the Camaro name into its own brand, but as far as we can tell, none of that is true. That said, rumors, true or not, spread like wildfire. While the Chevrolet Camaro is leaving the stage, a concept artist has dedicated the time to imagine a “what-if” scenario and pieced together what a Camaro EV and SUV might look like if General Motors did decide to take that route at some point in the future.
Chevrolet Camaro EV And SUV Concept: Details
TheAutoReport has created three concepts on YouTube, each of which takes inspiration from the current generation Camaro. That is, the front fascia is unmistakably a Corvette, though with a noticeably more narrow front grille since, well, it doesn’t need one. The EV version also takes a page out of Dodge’s book with the Charger Daytona concept, and by that, we mean a liftback appearance towards the back of the car. Then, we have the SUV, which is indeed interesting. The back appears to be very aggressive, with sharp edges and LED light strips around to ensure people know the car is there in low-light situations. It looks similar to the Chevrolet Blazer EV, though with a more aggressive stance and appearance.
Of course, we know that, as of now, there is no such indication that General Motors will take route with the Camaro name. That said, it’s always fun to look at concept art and think about the possibilities that work to inspire.
