Nicole Kidman confirms Big Little Lies Season 3 is a go

According to star and executive producer Nicole Kidman, Big Little Lies Season 3 is happening. The HBO hit, created by David E. Kelley and based on the novel of the same name, garnered a lot of buzz upon its 2017 debut because of its starry cast and an engaging story that went to dark places.

The second installment was more divisive, though there has still been plenty of curiosity about whether a season 3 could happen. The cast, including Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz, has struck different tones about the possibility since season 2’s conclusion more than four years ago.

Per a story on Deuxmoi’s Instagram, during a Q&A at an event hosted by the LPGA during the CME Group Tour Championship on November 17, Kidman confirmed that Big Little Lies season 3 is happening. It’s worth noting that HBO hasn’t commented on the announcement.

Kidman says, “I loved Big Little Lies,” when asked about her favorite roles. She then adds, “We will be bringing you a third one, just FYI.”

Rumors of a third season have died down over the years. Kidman sounded less sure in 2021 during an interview with “Andy Cohen Live” on SiriusXM.

“I don’t know. I know that we would,” the Oscar winner said then. “We all are very, very good friends and the idea of working together again. I mean, literally Laura just texted me. … But yeah, the idea of being together and, you know, [you get to a] point in your life where you go, ‘Gosh, it’s just – it’s nice to be around the people I like being around and working with the people I like working around,’ let alone on a hit show like that. So, you know, but that is not, it’s not on the cards, but yeah, we would like to do it.”
