The new limited run incorporates Custom Shop Master Luthier Tom Murphy’s deep knowledge of vintage guitars, his passion for the craft, and inspired creativity to bring his vision of the ultimate 1959 Les Paul™ Standard reissues to life. The 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Limited Edition Murphy Lab Aged With Brazilian Rosewood is available in the USA only from Gibson Custom Shop at authorized, premium Gibson dealers and on www.gibson.com. Tom’s well-earned legacy as a Master Luthier and pioneer at Gibson Custom is a testament to his dedication to the art of guitar making. Available in six Tom Murphy-developed custom colors, only 50 of the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Limited Edition Murphy Lab Aged With Brazilian Rosewood guitars will be made in each color, and each one features a hand-picked top, a super light back, a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and unique Murphy Lab aging that is completely exclusive to this very special run. Each of the six finishes are named after Tom Murphy, including Tom’s Cherry, Tom’s Tea, Tom’s Lemon Burst, Tom’s Tri-Burst, and Tom’s Dark Burst-each of the above five colors are available at select dealers. A sixth color, the Murphy Burst, is available exclusively at the Gibson Garage and at Gibson.com. These extraordinary 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Limited Edition Murphy Lab Aged With Brazilian Rosewood guitars utilize handpicked materials of the highest quality, including Brazilian rosewood fretboards, super lightweight mahogany bodies, and AAAA-figured maple tops that were cherry-picked and set aside specifically for this release. Their Murphy Lab aging is unique and distinct from other Murphy Lab offerings and completely exclusive to this distinguished limited run, with a heavy treatment and notable touches like custom-aged plated and plastic parts. Each finish option was developed and selected by Tom Murphy as well. A total of six colors, with 50 guitars in each color, will be a part of this incredibly special limited offering, and a leather-bound certificate of authenticity and an aged Lifton™ hardshell case are also included with each one of these exceptional instruments.
