Tokyo stocks up in morning after Wall St. rebound lifts sentiment

Tokyo stocks rose slightly Friday morning, as investor sentiment improved after Wall Street rebounded overnight from a sharp fall.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 64.42 points, or 0.19 percent, from Thursday to 33,204.89. The broader Topix index was up 10.79 points, or 0.46 percent, at 2,336.77.
