英語「have a great impact」の意味とは？
hypothesis（仮説、前提）という言い方を活用した英文を言ってみましょう。
We formulated a hypothesis based on his theory.
私たちは彼の理論に基づいた仮説を立てました。
We started with the hypothesis that, in the future, population and national power will be proportional.
将来、人口と国力は比例するという仮説を立てることから始めました。
If the hypothesis is correct, countries with a large population will have a greater impact on the world economy in the future.
もしその仮説が正しければ、人口の大きい国は今後世界経済に与える影響が大きくなっていくでしょう。
We formulated a hypothesis about the relationship between population, GDP, land area and resources.
人口と GDP と国土の広さと資源の関係についての仮説を立てました。
If Japan chose a policy of opening its doors to immigrants, it could stop the population decline.

ちょこっと解説♪
- 「仮説 」は hypothesis、「仮説を立てる」の動詞は formulate、form、make があります。
- 「～に基づく仮説」は a hypothesis based on ～などと表現できます。
- have a great impact on ～ は「～に大きな影響を与える」という意味の表現。great の代わりに big を使うこともあります。上の例文では「より大きな影響」と表現するために、比較級の greater を使っています。
- 「私たちはその仮説を検証した」は test を用いて、We tested that hypothesis. と言い、「その仮説を実験で検証した」はWe tested that hypothesis experimentally. となります。
- 仮説を「立てる」は、formulate のかわりに make、form も使えます。
