Carol Alt's sleep pattern is key to her good health

Carol Alt's sleep routine is key to her youthful appearance.

The 63-year-old model - who has previously featured on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue - has revealed how she's managed to maintain her enviable figure.

Carol told DailyMail.com: "Funny thing is I always feel more hungry when I’m tired."

The model subsequently advised against "over-eating".

She said: "Doing a small work out daily keeps your hunger down. Never deprive yourself, but aim for the healthy stuff. Eating minimal amount so you can get the taste but not over-eating."

Despite this, Carol revealed that she still likes to snack when she's out and about.

The brunette beauty shared: "If I’m going to a friends house, I always bring some thing that I know I can eat. So that I’m eating with everyone else - crudite is always the perfect go-to: carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, cucumbers.

"They’re tasty, you have to keep going back and picking at it, or you can carry a small plate around while you’re mingling. You can eat it with your hands; you don’t have to wield a knife and fork encumbering you."

Meanwhile, Carol previously insisted that she's not scared of rejection.

The model - who has worked with a host of big-name brands during her career, including the likes of Diet Pepsi and Givenchy - also observed that age "is not a limitation".

She told DailyMail.com in November: "I have been turned down many times. And found other avenues to take to reach my goals. People always say no first … You can’t let that slow you down.

"The Kardashians built a global empire chartering new terrain. The only limitations you have are the limitations you put on yourself. Age is not a limitation. It’s only a limitation if you see it that way.

"The key to life is to always live your life exploring the new and the uncharted. It keeps you young, and it keeps you relevant."
