Lili for Life unveils the first dyslexic-friendly computer monitor

*The creator and manufacturer of the LILI lamp, designed to facilitate reading for dyslexic individuals, unveils the Lili Monitor, a screen designed to make computer work easier for dyslexics. This functional prototype incorporates the pulsed light technology developed by Lili for Life, known to deliver positive results for dyslexic individuals.*

Having unveiled its first Lili lamp at CES 2022, which earned it the USA TODAY award in the Best of Tech category at CES 2022, and the Lili lamp Pro at CES 2023, the French startup Lili for Life returns to CES this year. The new monitor integrates LILI’s signature pulsed light technology, providing enhanced reading comfort and reduced fatigue for dyslexic individuals. According to a recent study focused on a satisfaction survey conducted by OpinionWay, reading comfort and reduced fatigue remain the two major benefits observed by users of the Lili lamp. Simplifying the identification of words and making reading a smoother experience is shared by most. The integration of pulsed light technology in this new screen significantly improves usability, whether for reading emails, learning, or entertainment. Like the lamp, the LILI Monitor maintains a simple initial setup, ensuring accessibility for everyone.

A Major Step Forward for Multi-Support Reading

The Lili Monitor and the Lili lamp, presented at CES 2023, integrate a common technology that dynamically modulates the light field, creating a customizable environment tailored to each user.

Lili’s app, available on iOS and Android, allows easy control of the products from a smartphone to adjust the light signal for visual comfort.

A Revolutionary Discovery to Alleviate Dyslexia

The Lili for Life technology is the brainchild of two French physicists, Albert Le Floch and Guy Ropars. Honored by France’s National Academy of Medicine in 2020, they discovered that dyslexic individuals possess two dominant eyes, unlike normal readers. This causes an overlap of images in their brain during reading.

Lili for Life has developed a technological device that emits light flashes invisible to the naked eye, thus correcting this overlapping effect—so-called “mirror” images. These flashes create a temporal shift in the visual perception of letters, eliminating these duplicated images. Reading becomes smoother, faster and less tiring, permitting improved text comprehension.

For Bertrand Descours, CEO of Lili for Life: “CES aims to demonstrate how technology can improve our daily lives, sharing the vision for our products. The LILI Monitor represents a valuable step forward in technological innovation for our well-being, be it at home, at school, or at work. CES will provide us the opportunity to better understand the challenges of Anglo-Saxon markets with regards to dyslexia, and to enter a new phase of company financing.

Lili for Life’s products now available internationally

The international expansion of Lili for Life’s lamp distribution attests to its innovation and the tangible benefits it provides. The brand has established strong partnerships with distributors such as Softline and Douglas Stewart in the United Kingdom. Following its European expansion, Lili for Life is focusing on the American market, seeking to serve the U.S. education system, which has gradually taken measures to better understand and support dyslexic learners. According to the National Institute of Health, an estimated 1 in 5 children suffer from dyslexia in the United States

On the occasion of CES, Lili for Life is launching a crowdfunding campaign via the KissKissBankBank platform. The new Lili Monitor will be available for pre-order, allowing everyone to contribute to this innovation. The campaign will start on January 8, 2024, and will run for a duration of 6 weeks. Lili for Life has set a goal of collecting €40,000.

According to the WHO, dyslexia affects between 8 and 10% of the population. It is often detected at school when one begins to learn to read. Both children and adults then face difficulties in reading: they are slower to grasp the meaning of written texts and, thus disadvantaged in daily life, risk losing confidence in themselves.

Lili for Life is among the companies included by the Business France delegation to be present at CES from January 9 to 12, 2024 – Eureka Park Stand 60 413-8.

About Lili for Life

Aware of the daily challenges faced by dyslexic individuals and concerned about remedying the sense of injustice they feel, Frédéric Granotier and a team of entrepreneurs founded Lili for Life in September 2020.

Their ambition is to enable the widest possible dissemination of the pathbreaking discoveries of researchers Albert Le Floch and Guy Ropars to concretely help as many dyslexic individuals as possible, in France and around the world.
