'2 women rescued from trafficking'

Srinagar:

The police intervened to rescue two Bangladeshi women who were being trafficked to Jammu and Kashmir.

The women were saved by the police, and an individual named Nishith Biswas from West Bengal was apprehended while accompanying them.

Acting promptly upon receiving information about the potential human trafficking incident, Jammu Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) under sections 366A/370/370A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The investigation of the case has been assigned to the Senior Deputy Police Officer (SDPO) of City North.
