Govt sets ball rolling for Lok Sabha polls in Jammu and Kashmir

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has initiated preparations for the upcoming General Elections to the Lok Sabha in 2024 by appointing Union Territory Level Nodal Officers to oversee various critical areas and issues.

The appointment of officers has been announced through an official notification. The appointed officers, drawn from various administrative departments, will serve as nodal points to coordinate and address specific concerns related to their respective domains.

Key appointments include administrative secretaries from departments such as Jal Shakti (Drinking Water and Sanitation), Housing and Urban Development, Power Development, Public Works, School Education, and Social Welfare. Additionally, officials have been designated from departments like State Taxes, Transport, Excise, Migrants Relief and Rehabilitation, and representatives from banking institutions including J&K Bank Ltd.
