Shoppers looking for an unconventional floral gift this Valentine's Day can buy a bouquet of roses that can last all year - as they are made of LEGO.

The LEGO Icons Bouquet of Roses 10328 is a buildable game for adults priced at £54.98, and features 12 artificial rose flowers with long, green stems, along with four baby's breath springs. Its product description reads: “Let creativity bloom with this beautiful bouquet of a dozen red roses and baby’s-breath foliage – a timeless gift from the LEGO Botanical Collection.”

Over 4,000 of the LEGO Icons Bouquet of Roses have been purchased in the past month and from a glance, they could easily be mistaken for real roses. The plastic bouquet has a customer rating of 4.6 stars out of five on Amazon. In the reviews, one person wrote: “Growing up my mother would always buy me and my brothers Lego. Now thanks to these new styles of Lego I had the chance to buy her a Lego gift for the first time. I mean I think it's the perfect gift for any lady who has a creative sense. The only downside I would say is that it's not enough to fill a vase so I'm gonna have to buy another Lego flower.”

A second shopper said: “I really don't regret my purchase! Roses are my favorite flowers and this bouquet is more beautiful than life with this bright red! Very nice decorative element and that made people envious! It could make a great Valentine's Day gift.”

Nottingham Post reported that a third commented: “Nothing to say but they are beautiful. Now I want the roses but pink,” while Giuli_Giuls said: “The bouquets of flowers are very beautiful and the roses are no exception... beautiful and with attention to detail. Lego doesn't miss a beat!”

However, no all shoppers are delighted by this Valentine treat, with Meiko Waldow writing: “Not recommended because many parts are simply not included.”

Another said that when they received the box, it had "dents everywhere". On LEGO’s own website , the bouquet is priced at £54.99, so there isn’t much difference in price. The earliest it can be shipped is February 29

Other retailers, such as Asda are also selling the LEGO Icons Bouquet of Roses for £45, with delivery starting at £3.50. However if roses aren’t really your style, Amazon also sells the Flowers Bouquet Building Set which features eucalyptus, sunflowers, lavender, red roses, lilies, baby's breath, tulips, plum blossoms, and carnations, for just £29.99, down from £32.59 (an eight per cent saving).
