HLE Peanut on being tied 6-1: "I want to consider it as a good source of motivation."

On Feb. 15, in the 2024 LCK Spring Split, Hanwha Life Esports faced OK BRION. Hanwha Life Esports showcased great resilience throughout the games, as they fell behind early but managed to turn the games around. After a 2-0 victory, Hanwha Life Esports head coach Choi “DanDy” In-kyu and jungler Han “Peanut” Wang-ho joined the media for an interview.

Congrats on the win. How do you feel?

DanDy: The patch changed, and the teams had a long time to prepare, so I thought it was a match full of variables. I’m satisfied that we won 2-0.

Peanut: I’m happy since it feels that we adapted to the new patch well after the holiday.

Although you won 2-0, it was a tough match. What do you think?

DanDy: There was a communication error in game 2, so we fell behind. Fortunately, our composition power got better later on. Since it was the first match on the new patch, it felt that we faced each other more carefully.

What was the communication error?

Peanut: In game 1, we played thinking that we were ahead. In game 2, there was a miscommunication in the Lv. 3 skirmishes, so we fell behind. The early game flow wasn’t easy.

Turning the game around like that, today’s game seems like it was a good experience for Hanwha Life Esports. What do you think?

DanDy: We had chances to snowball better in game 2, but we missed them. The players are veterans, and they know well about how to deal with that kind of situation. They solved the crisis well.

What do you think about the current patch?

DanDy: It doesn’t seem much different, but I’ll need to see more scrims and games.

Three teams are 6-1 now. What do you think?

DanDy: The standings are important, but currently, since we have new members, our priority is to improve our teamwork and team synergy. I’m trying not to think too much about the standings.

Peanut: I want to consider it as a good source of motivation. Round 1 isn’t over yet, and all the teams’ performance will improve. I just want to end up with a decent rank in the standings.

Your next opponent is Gen.G. To Peanut, it’s your former team. Any comments?

DanDy: Gen.G is a great team, so it could be difficult, but if we prepare well and play without mistakes, we can win.

Peanut: I think it’ll be fun. Regardless of who we face, I want to win. They’re a good team, so we need to prepare well to face them.

Any last comments?

DanDy: We’ll work hard so that we can keep showing a good performance.

Peanut: The patch will keep on changing. I’ll do my best to adapt well and play well.
