Independent Russian media have published video material showing Alexei Navalny in apparent good health during a court appearance just one day before his death was reported.
Navalny had appeared "cheerful, healthy and alert," journalists working for SOTA reported, for example, on their Telegram channel, showing a 30-second clip without sound. Navalny is shown talking and smiling on the clip while being linked by video to the courtroom.
While the political activist clearly suffered the effects of his imprisonment and repeatedly complained about conditions, he always appeared alert during court appearances.
