Officials have identified the 71-year-old Union County woman who died in a house fire on Wednesday evening.
Christine Hendricks was trapped in a second-floor bedroom when she was found after the fire broke out around 5:30 p.m. at a single-family home on the 1100 block of Weber Street in Union Township, Fire Chief Greg Ricciardi said.
Hendricks was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire started in the area of a mattress in the bedroom, officials said.
Firefighters had the blaze under control in about an hour and contained the damage to the second-floor, Ricciardi said.
A man who lives in the house was brought to an area hospital to be checked, the chief said.
