Even though Donald Trump has said that he could’ve talked the North and South out of the Civil War, and that he’s done more for Blacks than any President besides Abraham Lincoln, Honest Abe was still ranked as the United States’ best President in new ratings by a group of presidential historians.

Trump was ranked in last place in the survey — worse than James Buchanan at No. 44, Andrew Johnson at No. 43, Franklin Pierce at No. 42, and William Henry Harrison at No. 41.

Trump also ranked as the “most polarizing” U.S. President.

The rankings cap a couple of weeks in which Trump was slapped with nearly a half-billion dollars in civil penalties and interest for defamation and fraud, along with a three-year ban on doing business in New York.

On Saturday, Trump was booed loudly at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia, where he unveiled his latest scheme to raise money: Trump-branded sneakers.

Lincoln topped the 2024 Presidential Greatness Project for the third time. He also claimed the top spot in 2015 and 2018.

(Of course, it’s silly that Lincoln could move in the rankings given that he’s been dead for nearly 160 years. It’s not like he’s been passing infrastructure bills or making bad policy decisions.)

Democratic and Republican respondents were asked to rank presidents on a scale of 0-100, with 0 being a failure, 50 being average and 100 being great.

Rounding out the top five in the rankings were Franklin Delano Roosevelt at No. 2, George Washington at No. 3, Theodore Roosevelt at No. 4, and Thomas Jefferson at No. 5.

A partisan divide was seen in the rankings of Presidents Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, the group said.

In the end, Obama ranked No. 7 overall, Clinton was No. 12, Biden was ranked No. 14, Reagan finished at No. 16 and Bush placed at No. 32.

As MAGA supporters freaked out on social media about the story on Fox News’ website, Trump critic George Conway wrote, “Odd that the tweet and headline don’t highlight the fact that Trump came in dead last, and that even Republican participants in the survey viewed him as being among the five worst presidents.”
