PSG and Barcelona scouts watch 26-year-old Newcastle player on Saturday, they both want to sign him

PSG and Barcelona scouts were spotted at St James’ Park on Saturday as they watch over Newcastle United star who they are both very keen to sign.

Newcastle are preparing for a very busy summer in terms of incomings, but they could also face a tough decision with players who may want to leave.

A new report from HITC claimed that scouts from both clubs were watching the game against Bournemouth with Bruno Guimaraes as their main focus ahead of the summer window.

Newcastle at risk of losing star player to European giants

The two European sides had registered interest in signing the 26-year-old back in January when Newcastle were looking a bit short of money and were desperate for reinforcements.

Nothing ever came of the interest in the winter window but the rumours are still persisting and this has only added fuel to the fire as Newcastle hope they can keep hold of their star player.

The Brazilian has hit a good run of form lately with three goals and an assist in his last three games as Eddie Howe has opted to play him in a more advanced role at times, giving him more freedom further up the pitch.

With so many players out injured at the moment it’s really proving how key Bruno’s creativity and on-the-ball ability is for the way Newcastle want to play and how difficult it would be to replace him.

Newcastle cannot replace Guimaraes no matter the fee

Newcastle’s record without Bruno is absolutely atrocious. The Magpies are yet to win a Premier League game which the 26-year-old has not featured in which would be a huge worry if he leaves.

That’s not to suggest Newcastle are never going to win another game if Bruno is poached in the summer, but it makes Howe’s job a lot tougher without his star quality.

There will be other players who can come in and improve the midfield, but these days for top quality players you’re going to paying astronomical fees anyway, so it makes sense to keep hold of the star they’ve already got.

The only positive about losing Bruno would be the £100m fee he would be bringing in, but there’s a good chance that Newcastle would value him even higher than that.
