Even as prices have continue to increase, the C8 continues the Corvette ethos as being a (relative) bargain. Compared to, say, Porsche, the Corvette delivers far more performance for the money. Just look at the Stingray vs the 911, or the Z06 vs the 718 GT4 RS. That’s of course to say nothing of more expensive marques such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Aston Martin. Yet, the Corvette can hardly be considered “cheap.” Far from, in fact. For instance, the average transaction price (ATP) of a C8 Corvette has exceeded $106,000 USD. Yet America’s Sports Car is still in very high demand, and sales don’t appear to be dwindling.
2023 C8 Corvette Average Transaction Price: Details
Based on GM’s Q4 2023 United States Market Performance, the average transaction price for the C8 Corvette was $106,032. GM’s average ATP is just $53,310, which means the Corvette is nearly double. According to Corvette Blogger, the C8 Corvette’s ATP has increased by 20.9% compared to the previous year. That’s even though overall Corvette sales dipped 2.4% during the same time period. So, what caused this giant leap in price? The Z06.
The C8 Corvette Z06 debuted in the fourth quarter of 2022, but production of the model was still ramping up when the quarter ended. By the time the 4th quarter of 2023 came around, approximately 2,738 new Z06 Corvettes had been produced, which is how the ATP skewed upwards. The Corvette Z06 currently has a starting price of $112,700, and that’s just to start. Most buyers were equipping these cars with all the goodies, including the 3LZ trim package, Z07 Performance Package, Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brakes, and Visible Carbon Fiber Wheels. Just as well, the new E-Ray − a hybrid, AWD Corvette − is breaking onto the scene, and is priced right on top of the Z06. This will surely bump the ATP of the Corvette even higher, as well as gather plenty of buyer data that will surely determine the future of the sports car. Will it be the furious all-motor personality of the Z06? Or the technological sophistication of the E-Ray?
Sales of the C8 Corvette continue to impress, selling over 34,000 units the past two years in the United States alone, outselling the outgoing Camaro, and nearly triple the amount of Porsche 911s sold in the USA as well.
It’ll be interesting to see how those numbers continue to skew as production for the Corvette E-Ray ramps up and, eventually, the ZR1 unveiling and availability to place an order. With the Stingray, Z06, E-Ray, and then the ZR1, there will be a Corvette offering for just about everyone, depending on their preferred uses for the car. But we’re sure the ZR1 will contribute to the growing ATP for the Corvette and ensure that the vehicle remains the most expensive model in Chevrolet’s line-up. Though, who wouldn’t want one of these epic cars?
