What is the movie about?

Starring Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis, Everything Everywhere All at Once tells the story of Evelyn, the owner of a struggling laundromat who has become so fixated on her work that her family has well and truly taken a backseat.

On the day of a financial audit by the IRS, and with her husband, Waymond, attempting to serve her divorce papers, Evelyn is unwillingly dragged into a battle for the multiverse when a version of Waymond from another universe takes over his body.

The delightfully mind-bending movie blends numerous genres together and contains elements of surreal comedy, sci-fi, fantasy, martial arts films and family drama while exploring a host of philosophical themes, making it one of the most original movies in recent years.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is available to stream now on Netflix in the US after arriving on the streaming service on Friday, February 23, 2024.

Record-breaking award winner

After earning widespread critical acclaim and a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Everything Everywhere All at Once became the film to beat during the 2023 awards season.

The movie picked up awards at the BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and SAG Awards as well as countless critics associations.

At the Oscars, Everything Everywhere All at Once won a staggering seven awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh, Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan, Best Supporting Actress for Jamie Lee Curtis, Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Editing.

IGN estimated during last year’s awards season that Everything Everywhere All at Once had become the most-awarded movie of all time after reportedly surpassing the total of major awards earned by The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
