TAMPA, Fla. \- The City of Tampa is dishing out a recipe for small food businesses to thrive through its Bridges to Business program. Local food entrepreneurs who are hungry for opportunity are invited to attend an upcoming session to learn more.

The Bridges to Business Vendor Certification program is a City-led initiative aimed at empowering small catering companies and food truck operators by enhancing their eligibility for government and private sector collaborations.

Entrepreneurs participating in the upcoming Bridges to Business session planned for February 26, 2024, from 2pm-5pm at the City Center at Hanna Avenue (2555 East Hanna Avenue), will receive on-site assistance from City Equal Business Opportunity staff to navigate the application process for minority-owned, women-owned, or small business certifications.

Limited slots are available for one-on-one certification consultations.

Moreover, attendees will have the chance to network with representatives from various City departments including the Fire Marshal’s Office, Business Tax Division, Parks and Recreation Special Events team, alongside business start-up consultants and financial lenders.

Representatives from the Department of Business and Professional Regulations will also be present to offer insights on State licensing, inspections, food management, employee certifications, and more.

Attendees will gain crucial knowledge to seize opportunities like vending at the popular "Food Truck Fridays" offered to the community and city employees at the City Center at Hanna Ave and other special events hosted in City parks.
