86TVs band touring new EP across the UK and Ireland to perform at Bodega in Nottingham

A band touring across the UK and Ireland following the release of their debut EP is coming to Nottingham.

86TVs featuring former Maccabees duo Hugo and Felix White, their younger brother and solo artist Will White and drummer Jamie Morrison of Stereophonics and Noisettes released their EP You Don’t Have to Be Yourself Right Now on January 26.

The band will be performing at Nottingham’s bar and music venue, Bodega, on February 29.

The band said: “‘You Don’t Have To Be Yourself Right Now’ is our first ever group of songs to sit together in a collection.

“It feels good. It’s a fitting place to start - three of us brothers writing lyrics from different perspectives, lots of group singing, guitars, drums, pianos and about six or seven years of our lives all wrapped up in there.”

The EP features both Worn Out Buildings, which was nominated for Radio X’s Record of the Year and Higher Love, which was playlisted at 6 Music and Absolute Radio with further support from Apple Music 1.

It also includes two brand new tracks, Spinning World and Dreaming, which will amplify the band’s burgeoning reputation.

The EP was recorded during split sessions between the band’s own Olympic Studio and The Bunker at 13, owned by Stephen Street.

The band first played shows in 2022 as special guests to Jamie T and played a run of sold-out headline shows and selected festival dates in 2023, coinciding with the release of Worn Out Buildings.

86TVs were named as one of the new artists that 6 Music are championing across Independent Venue Week.
