Homeless man sought for stabbing Atlantic City store clerk, police say

Francisco Bonilla, a 34-year-old homeless man, is wanted by Atlantic City police for attempted murder of a store worker in early February.

A homeless man is being sought for allegedly stabbing a convenience store employee in what police describe as an unprovoked attack earlier this month.

Francisco Bonilla, 34, remains at large after the stabbing in Atlantic City on Feb. 3, according to police, who said he’s charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses in connection to the attack.

Bonilla is believed to be living in Atlantic City, police said Feb. 16.

He entered a store in the 100 block of North Rhode Island Avenue around 8:18 a.m. and assaulted the employee, according to police. The worker, identified only as being 39, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for life-threatening injuries.

An update on the victim’s condition was not available Sunday.

Anyone with information on the case or who may have seen Bonilla is asked to contact Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766. Police also accept anonymous tips to 847411, beginning messages with “ACPD.”
