'Yikes': Experts school Trump's favorite law professor for attack on Biden's ancestor

Jonathan Turley testifies to Congress

George Washington University Law professor Jonathan Turley, a frequent defender of Donald Trump who also advocated for the ex-president as a witness during his first impeachment, just received a lesson of his own after attacking President Joe Biden's great-great grandfather.

Turley, a Fox News legal pundit who predicted Trump would lose his claim that he can't be prosecuted for election crimes because of "presidential immunity," wrote a new article in which he outlines "a recent discovery of the criminal history of the great-great-grandfather" of Biden.

"It turns out that the evasion of accountability may be something of a family trait acquired through generations of natural selection," Turley wrote in promoting the column on social media.

Turley was swiftly hit with a community note from the social media network, saying, "There is no evidence of an increased genetic predilection for illegal behaviour. This is a field much-studied, and directly contradicts the assertion Turley attempts to argue."

The experts also joined in.

"This should be mortally embarrassing," former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance said Sunday. "Even for Turley."

Former Republican strategist Stuart Stevens also had a take on Turley's column.

"It cost $91,000 a year to attend [George Washington University Law] to be taught by someone who actually wrote a piece about natural selection," Stevens said on Sunday. "I will grant [Turley] the benefit of the doubt that he is about to be charged with some heinous crime and is preparing an insanity defense, but otherwise, this is the stuff of Trump University Law School. Alina Habba would be embarrassed."

Democratic voting rights attorney Marc Elias said, "Proving again that he is Mike Lindell with tenure."

Social media user @Anatya77 responded to Elias' comment, saying, "What I don’t understand is how GW law school hires staff like Turley!! Are parents paying tuition okay with it? Yikes!"
