A new trend is taking over TikTok called ‘White Swan vs Black Swan’ which sees friends comparing their personality types.
Social media users are saying that one person is more like a white swan, while the other is a black swan – but what does that really mean?

The two personality types consider many different attributes including your appearance, characteristics and general aura to determine which one you are.
A white swan usually has blonde hair, wears light-colored clothes and has a bubbly, friendly and inviting personality.
The black swan is opposite to this, with dark hair, black clothes and a grungier appearance. They also have a bolder personality.
However, it doesn’t always come down to hair color. A White Swan could be brunette, it just depends on their overall vibe.
White Swans are more shy, quiet and reserved, while Black Swans are more assertive, loud and vivacious.

Personalities take over TikTok
Both personality types have gone viral on TikTok this month, with friends filming each other and sharing which is which.
The trend is set to the famous theme tune from the ballet Swan Lake, which was composed by Tchaikovsky.
In one viral video, a blonde girl is sitting at a table smiling and the caption “White Swan” is written underneath her face.
It then skips to her friend, the dark-haired “Black Swan” and the pair say the two personalities are the “best combo”.

White Swan vs Black Swan is similar to the Black Cat vs Golden Retriever trend, which are two more viral personalities.
According to TikTok, a Golden Retriever is a social, bubbly individual who makes friends easily, just like the dog breed.
This is the opposite of a Black Cat, which describes a more introverted person who is quiet, reserved, shy and calm.
The terms are usually used to describe a relationship, with one person always being a Golden Retriever and the other a Black Cat.
