Emma McVey says she is loving life now she has separated from her husband Gaz Beadle - four months on from their shock split.
The 31-year-old model was married to 35-year-old Geordie Shore star Gaz in 2021 and the couple share two children; five-year-old son Chester and three-year-old daughter Primrose. Fans were astonished in October last year when Gaz announced he and Emma had decided to go their separate ways \- just two years after their stunning ceremony held at fancy Cheshire venue Merrydale Manor.
Now Emma has spoken out about her new life as a single mun-of-two as she and Gaz wait for their divorce to be finalised. In a social media post, she thanked her fans and followers for supporting her in the four months since her split was revealed - and said she is enjoying her new life as a single pringle.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, Emma shared a snap of herself posing in front of a mirror while dressed in black. She wrote alongside the snap: “A little life update…I want to say thank you for the lovely messages and comments you guys send daily.
“Without you, I wouldn’t have my main job, so thank you for being so supportive. I also wanted to touch on life recently. I’m slow and not as responsive because the mental load atm is so much and life is 1000mph. But as for being a newly single mum. I’m actually the happiest I’ve been in a long time, it’s just a struggle to juggle life sometimes.”
Emma continued in a separate story, adding: “& if I could give any advice to newly single mummy’s going through this too, or even mums to be honest. It’s taken some time for yourself. I never prioritised this before but since doing so it’s helped so much. There’s only so much we can take on without getting overstimulated and burnt out. Our children want a happy mum. My Fridays they see their dad and come home Saturday. I’ve started using this time for myself”.
News of Emma and Gaz was broken in October last year when the MTV star casually announced he had separated from his wife while interacting with fans in an online Q&A. He set out his call for questions, writing: “Charging car having a coffee fire away” - with the window then open for followers to ask him any questions they liked.
One curious fan sensitively asked: “It’s personal, but are you & Emma still together? You 4 are a lovely family to follow!” Gary’s reply was nothing short of shocking as he revealed he and Emma had called it quits at the beginning of the month. He wrote in reply: “Hey no we actually separated about 3 weeks ago we are still friends there is no bad blood or anything and we have worked out the best way of doing it for the kids which for me and Emma is always gunna be the most important thing.”
