Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson's interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month further backed the ousted right-wing host's public support for the country in its aggression against Ukraine.

Carlson has a history of parroting Kremlin talking points, and has even declared that he's "rooting for Russian to win the conflict."

During a recent interview with the conservative show Chief Nerd, Carlson mentioned, "The idea that I've been flacking for Putin when my relatives fought in the Revolutionary War. I’m as American as you could be. [Atlantic staff writer] Anne Applebaum calls me a 'traitor.' It's just, like, so dumb."

Applebaum replied to Carlson's statement via X (formerly Twitter), writing, "Lots of people whose relatives fought in the Revolutionary war took up arms against the United States in 1861, and they were traitors too."

Others like the anti-Donald Trump organization Lincoln Project co-founder, Reed Galen, added, "Benedict Arnold fought in the Revolutionary War, too."

Yale Review Editor James Surowiecki commented, "Tucker, you said that going to a Russian supermarket 'radicalized' you against the U.S. government. You're a shill for Putin. Just admit it."
