‘I am told’: Liverpool unlikely to hire ‘top’ manager now because of his personality - journalist

Liverpool need a new manager this summer.

Jurgen Klopp is leaving the Reds at the end of the season , and many are wondering who will replace the legendary gaffer at Anfield.

One man who has been linked with the Liverpool job as of late is Julian Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann would make sense as a Klopp successor. After all, they have a very similar schooling in the Bundesliga, and Nagelsmann will be free after his Germany contract expires this summer.

However, speaking on The Debrief, Ben Jacobs has suggested that Nagelsmann isn’t in fact a leading candidate for Liverpool as they don’t believe he has the right personality or strategic fit for their project going forwards.

Julian Nagelsmann unlikely to get the Liverpool job

Jacobs shared what he knows about the former Bayern Munich boss.

“Julian Nagelsmann is another alleged candidate, but I am told that he’s not a frontrunner for Liverpool. Why? He’s a top football coach, but not the right personality or strategic fit,” Jacobs said.

Hardest job in football

Finding Jurgen Klopp’s replacement at Liverpool will be so difficult.

You can be the best tactician in the world, but if you don’t have the right personality, you’ve got no chance.

Liverpool are a truly unique club where personality matters so much, and if you don’t click with the fanbase, you’re not going to last long.

The reality is that there’s only one Jurgen Klopp, and replacing him with someone who has the right blend of tactical nous and personality is a very tough, almost impossible task.

Who Liverpool go for remains to be seen, but it sounds as though Nagelsmann may not be the man for the job.
