The last photos of tragic Hairy Biker Dave Myers show the star kicking back with best pal Si King watching the first leg of their tour.

Devastated Si announced the sad news today in a post on social media, revealing that he had been surrounded by his wife and friends when he died. It comes two years after Dave first shared that he was receiving cancer treatment and has kept fans updated throughout his journey.

The snap taken of the TV star looking relaxed with a glass of wine by his side has been released on a difficult day for fans. There was another to go alongside it, showing the life-long friends standing by the TV with their brilliant show on the screen. Liliana Orzac, Dave's wife, shared her heartbreaking tribute on Facebook alongside a collection of pictures of her late husband, penning: "Rest in peace, my love. My wonderful, brave man! Till next time we meet!"

Dave's death was announced by his pal Si earlier today, with the culinary star admitting he wasn't "sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment" as he broke the devastating news to fans via The Hairy Bikers' social media channels. Hi everyone, I’m afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years," Si began.

"Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home. All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own. Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow. I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime.

"I wish you god’s speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya. I know Dave and his family would want me to thank all of you who sent messages of support in recent times. It meant the world to him, his family and all The Hairy Bikers team."

Dave had told fans he was having treatment for cancer back in May 2022. He didn't say what type of cancer it was because he didn't want people to look it up and give him advice. But he did keep fans updated about his chemotherapy and continued to appear on TV following his diagnosis.

The devastating news of Dave's death comes midway through the run of a new series of The Hairy Bikers Go West airing on BBC Two, following a tear-jerking Christmas special from the culinary duo. Si's announcement today came as a huge shock to fans, with many believing Dave had turned a corner with his health. In what is now one of his last TV appearances ever, Dave appeared on top form in the new series as he larked about with pal Si and declared 'it's good to be alive' in one moving scene.
