The Republican-controlled House Oversight Committee released a transcript for the Hunter Biden closed-door hearing held this week as part of the GOP's investigation into the Biden family's finances.

The hearing came after weeks of drama over the president's son's willingness to testify. Specifically, he demanded that Republicans hold a public hearing so that everything could be out in the open and he could defend himself in front of the American people.

Republicans refused to accommodate this, and threatened to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress if he did not agree to the exact format they had laid out for the interview.

Ultimately, the two parties came to an agreement on the matter that allowed the hearing to move forward.

Republicans have alleged that President Joe Biden used his son's international business dealings as a front to launder international bribes.

However, as of now they have not produced compelling evidence of this, with even their own witnesses declining to state that they had seen the president involved in or profiting from these deals.
