‘We’ll see’…Agent of ‘special’ £85m player speaks out, amid claims Xabi Alonso wants him at Liverpool

There’s a lot of talk flying about when it comes to who will replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager in the summer.

As we all know, Xabi Alonso seems to be the bookies and fans’ choice to take over from the German.

Alonso is being looked at by both the Reds and Bayern Munich and it seems only a matter of time before he moves on from high-flying Bayer Leverkusen.

Of course, part of the appeal with Alonso is the idea he could being some of those Leverkusen stars with him to Anfield. And one of the key names who has been linked is German attacking star, Florian Wirtz.

Wirtz, 20, is one of the stars of the Bundesliga right now and an £85m price-tag won’t put off the best clubs in Europe.

However, in quotes shared by Fabrizio Romano, his father and agent has said that for now, Wirtz is intending on staying put in Leverkusen.

“Florian has a contract in Leverkusen until 2027. That will also roughly be the amount of time he will spend in Leverkusen. We should wait for the next two years and then we’ll see where the path leads”, Romano shared.

Florian Wirtz could be Liverpool’s Mo Salah heir

There is going to be a point where Liverpool need to replace our dear Mo Salah and in Florian Wirtz, the ideal player is there.

At 20, the sky really is the limit for Wirtz and if Alonso does come to Anfield, then it gives the club a huge chance of landing one of the world’s best young players.

Of course, the money is big and £85m is a big chunk of change. However, replacing Salah in the best possible way is going to take big money so FSG might have to stump it up.

Liverpool’s attacking players are already at a high level but it’s about constantly evolving and if the Reds can get a deal done for Wirtz, then it’s happy days all around.
