'I'm told': David Ornstein now shares what he's heard after claims Mo Salah has agreed to leave Liverpool

Mo Salah to Saudi Arabia is gathering momentum already ahead of the summer as journalists scramble to get what would be the biggest story of the summer in the Premier League.

Salah was continually linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League last summer but remained in Liverpool and has been in exceptional form all season.

However, fresh claims have been made over the last few days from former Premier League player Mido, who claims that a deal between Salah and Saudi deal makers has already been signed.

BRENTFORD, ENGLAND –

Of course, this is just one of many stories doing the rounds about Salah’s future right now.

And according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the claims about Salah do not match up with the information he is getting right now.

“Full respect to Mido and others reporting their information — but I’m told it is not true that contracts have been signed. If I’m wrong, I’ll hold my hands up. There’s every chance he will be pursued by teams from the Saudi Pro League again, especially given he is approaching the last 12 months of his existing deal, but that doesn’t mean he wants to leave Liverpool or Europe,” Ornstein said.

Mo Salah leaving Liverpool will dominate headlines until the summer

We’ve been here before with Mo Salah and it looks like we’re going there again.

We all know that eventually, if the Saudi league keeps on growing, that Salah will end up there one way or another. For now, though, it does seem like he has more left in the locker in terms of competing in the best leagues in Europe.

However, we all know this won’t stop the speculation and this claim from Mido has added fuel to a fire that was close to going out for the moment. Now, though, it’s ignited the story back into the mainstream.

Attention on Salah, then, won’t be going away anytime soon. As always, Liverpool fans will just have to see how things play out.
