Directed by Brian Kirk (Game Of Thrones), 21 Bridges is a 2019 American action-thriller that was released in 2019.

It was added to Netflix on Friday, March 1st 2019, and whether you’ve never seen it or merely want to revisit it, don’t skip out on streaming this gem.

Chadwick stars as Andre Davis, an NYPD Detective who takes the initiative to shut down 21 river crossings in Manhattan in the hopes of finding two war veterans who orchestrated a heist and are suspected of killing cops.

The movie divided critics but general viewers embraced it, earning it a very high 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Chadwick delivers a sensational, fierce performance as the lead, and it’s worth it for his magnetic screen presence alone. It’s one I’ve rewatched a few times over the years and it’s always a heartbreaking but vital reminder of a great man and talent the world has been robbed of. All the same, his work remains to be cherished for generations.

Tragically, 21 Bridges ended up being the actor’s final theatrical movie before his passing, with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever released posthumously (now on Disney+) and both Da 5 Bloods and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom released on streaming, available on Netflix.
