Bayern Munich remain confident that they can reach the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday, despite another Bundesliga setback.
Bayern were held 2-2 at Freiburg on Friday which did little to boost morale for the last 16 return leg against Lazio who won the first game 1-0 in Rome.
That match was part of three straight Bayern defeats, and they have now just won once from five games.
Europe could offer their last chance for silverware as they risk slipping 10 points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and have long been eliminated from the German Cup.
Coach Thomas Tuchel said that "these ups and downs" have accompanied the team all season and that he will therefore not rule out that "the team will deliver a top performance over 90 minutes" against Lazio.
Tuchel lamented that the team "completely lacked structure" and was "far too undisciplined" in the first half hour in Freiburg, which must be reversed on Tuesday along with "a readiness to execute the plan and fill it with life."
The coach said "a positive push" is needed in training, "and then we have to deliver."
Sporting director Christoph Freund said that "Bayern have shown on several occasions that we have a really good team and quality.
"Tuesday is a very important game, we have to be right on it from the first minute. We have 90 minutes to turn the tie around. We absolutely want to do that."
Midfielder Jamal Musiala, who scored Bayern's second in Freiburg which was cancelled out by Lucas Höler's equalizer, was also defiant.
"We have to stay positive, keep fighting through this period and play as well as we can up until the end if we want to maybe get something out of it," Musiala said.
