At least four people were killed and eight were injured in the latest Russian drone attack on Odessa, according to the authorities, twice the previously reported death toll.

Saturday's attack destroyed 18 flats in a nine-storey apartment block, the authorities said.

Those injured include a 3-year-old child and a pregnant woman, the governor of the Odessa region, Oleh Kiper, said in the morning, noting that there could be more people buried beneath the rubble.

Initially, two people were reported dead, before more bodies were brought out from below the rubble, including that of the child. The authorities published pictures of them.

Videos released by the authorities showed extensive destruction and rubble strewn far and wide. Volunteers were helping with the search and rescue activities.
