Jarrod Bowen has praised Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden for his technical ability on the pitch.
Having made over 150 Premier League appearances and five for the England national team, the West Ham United star has shared a dressing room and played against a wide variety of top players.
Now though, the attacker has named one City player that he feels possesses a particular set of skills that sets him aside from others in the Premier League right now.
Bowen wowed by Foden’s technical ability
Speaking in a recent short shared on the Premier League YouTube channel, Bowen had this to say when asked to pick a midfield option for his ideal five-a-side team.
He said: “Foden. In a five-a-side he’s so silky, so tekky.”
After working his way through City’s youth ranks, the midfielder has gone on to make 256 senior appearances for the Manchester club across all competitions, scoring 76 goals and delivering 51 assists.
Bowen’s comments aren’t the first time Foden has been hailed for his technical ability and attacking prowess, as Pep Guardiola said this about the 23-year-old back in August.
He said: “He has an incredible ability between the lines. The way he turns and attacks the last lines – it is one of the best I have seen. Every control, he knows exactly what is the goal. He doesn’t need two or three touches to get in the right position to attack the goal. In just one touch he is attacking.”
This current Premier League campaign has seen Foden rack up the second-highest total of shot-creating actions (105), goal-creating actions (13) and successful take-ons (36) in the City squad, which is further proof of how much of a technical and tricky figure he is to play against.
Taking all of that into account, it’s understandable why Bowen has selected the City star to be a part of his ideal five-a-side team.
