ITV BRITs viewers call for change minutes into show as they admit 'Doesn't feel right'

One of the biggest nights in music has kicked off tonight as the BRIT awards returns to screens to reflect on the musical talent of the last year.

A star-studded list of guests, performers and attendees have dazzled the red carpet and are now taking to the stage as the awards are delivered at the O2 Arena.

However, fans were quick to make complaints mere minutes into the ceremony as they called for a big change.

The awards usually air on a weekday, but this year the celebration has taken a Saturday night slot on ITV.

Plenty of viewers weren't impressed by the change though and called for the event to go back to its usual weekday air time.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, many flocked to criticise the decision for the award to air at a weekend, with one writing: "I miss when the #BRITs was on a school night. Saturday doesn’t feel right."

"Brit Awards on a Saturday night? Doesn't fit at all. #BRITS," another complained while someone else penned: "I can't get on with the #BRITs being on a Saturday night."

"The #BRITs should always be a weekday thing," a different viewer commented.

Someone else shared: "Brits on a weekend!? I swear it was always mid week. Or have I just missed the last few years #BRITs."

"Assuming the #BRITs is on tonight because people stopped watching when it was on the usual night and ITV are trying to capture the people too lazy to change channel after Saturday Night Takeaway," a sixth speculated.

"Agreed, doesn't feel right at all on Saturday night #BRITs," another remarked on the social media platform, responding to earlier criticism.
