Wolves have long pursued a striker. The club have been short on options upfront since the departure of Raul Jimenez in the summer.

Things only got worse in January as the depth depleted once again with Fabio Silva and Sasa Kalajdzic both leaving the club on loan.

The closest Wolves have gotten to signing a striker was last summer withtheir pursuit of Boulaye Dia. O’Neil saw a bid rejected on deadline day for a loan with the option to buy and since then the relationship between the club and the striker has deteriorated.

This has resulted in a lot of praise from many pundits including Lineker. The former England striker has tipped the manager to go to the very top and believes that he could very well be the first Englishman to win the Premier League title.
