All six Liverpool players with famous dads who are part of the academy right now

In a short space of time, Liverpool have seen the emergence of three exciting young players. Over the course of the last week or so, the trio of Lewis Koumas, Jayden Danns and Bobby Clark have all made impressive strides in their careers.

They’ve also all now lifted a major trophy with Liverpool. Having earned that right by overcoming Chelsea at Wembley. But that is not the only thing that all three of them have in common. All three of them are united by the fact that their fathers were famous footballers.

Bobby Clark’s dad, Lee, played for Newcastle United, Sunderland and Fulham during his distinguished career. Lewis Koumas’ father, Jason, represented the likes of Wigan and West Brom, while also playing for the Welsh national team. Meanwhile, Jayden Danns’ father, Neil, played for the likes of Crystal Palace, Birmingham City and Leicester City – he also captained Guyana’s national team, and scored three goals at the Gold Cup in 2019.

And they are not the only Liverpool academy players currently coming through the ranks who have famous dads. There are three others, including one whose father captained Everton.

The three other academy players with famous dads at Liverpool

One of the more well-known academy players whose dad is famous is Keyrol Figueroa. The U18 forward, is highly regarded at the academy. He is the son of Maynor Figueroa, who played over 200 games in the Premier League for Wigan Athletic and Hull City. He was also the captain of the Honduran national team, and represented his country a record 181 times.

Figueroa is followed by Zac Jagielka. He is the son of former Everton captain, Phil Jagielka, who played over 300 times for Everton in the Premier League. Phil also represented England 40 times, however, his son Zac, seems to have chosen Wales as the country to represent. He recently made three appearances for Wales at U17 level.

Last but not least, is another Welsh youth international in Prince Kobe Cisse. He is the son of Djibril Cisse, who of course represented Liverpool for several years. He was also involved in that famous victory at Istanbul. Djibril Cisse also played for France’s national team 41 times and scored nine goals. But his son Prince Kobe Cisse, has decided to represent Wales, which he is eligible to do through his mother. To date, Cisse has made one appearance for Wales’ U16 side.

Interestingly, what unites the trio even more is that all three of them are strikers. Whether they can follow in the footsteps of their fathers, as Danns, Clark and Koumas have done, remains to be seen.
