Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming slams ‘clickbait’ reports claiming husband has ‘no more joy’ after dementia diagnosis

Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Heming has hit back at claims that her actor husband has ‘no more joy’ left in his life after he was diagnosed with dementia.

The Die Hard actor has been battling Aphasia since 2022 and was later diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in February 2023.

Heming has been very vocal about Willis’ health journey and his slow deterioration on their social media accounts, posting family days out and celebrations.

She recently hit out at reports that her Hollywood husband has ‘no more joy’ left in his life and took to her Instagram account to slam the misrepresentation of his day-to-day life.

“It’s Sunday morning and I’m triggered. I just got clickbaited. I’m just scrolling, minding my own business, and just saw a headline – and got clickbaited – that had to do with my own family.

“The headline basically [said] there is no more joy in my husband. Now I can just tell you that is far from the truth. I need society, and whoever is writing these stupid headlines, to stop scaring people.”

She continued: “[People will think] once they get a diagnosis of some kind of neuro-cognitive disease that’s it, it’s over. Let’s pack it up. Nothing else to see here. We’re done. No it is the complete opposite.”

Heming captioned her video post: “This is much deeper than this clickbait story about Bruce. This is about people who are educating us about dementia who have not done their due diligence on the disease and feeling the public misinformation. This is a disservice.

“My experience is that two things can be true and exist at the same time. Grief and deep love. Sadness and deep connection. Trauma and resilience.

“I had to get out of my own way to get here but once I arrived, life really started to come together with meaning and I had a true sense of purpose. There is so much beauty and soulfulness in this story.

“I see headline after headline and blurbs of misinformation. I’m not even talking about my family, I’m used to the craziness of these farfetched headlines and stories. I’m just talking about baseline dementia awareness and what’s being fed to the public.

“You wonder why anxiety and depression is up in our society. I honestly think part of it has to do with this kind of clickbait, how things are framed and pushed out to us and how we have a split second to take that information in.

“To whom it may concern, please be mindful how you frame your story’s to the public about dementia and dig deeper. Thank you.”

Heming and Willis have been married since 2009 and have two children together, with Heming being a step-mum to Willis’ three other daughters he shares with Demi Moore.

Moore recently made an appearance on SiriusXM’s Radio Any and offered an update on how her ex-husband was doing.

She told host Andy Cohen: “I think the most important thing I could share is just meet them where they’re at.

“When you let go of who they’ve been, or who you think they [should be], or who even you would like them to be, you can really stay in the present and take in the joy, and the love, that is present and there for all that they are, not all that they’re not.”
