Vegan wants to sue neighbour for 'polluting' air after cooking meat on BBQ

By Paige Freshwater

A vegan has sparked outrage after revealing how he wants to sue his neighbour for cooking a BBQ on their own property. The American man didn't appreciate having to smell the meat cooking on the BBQ \- and now wants to know whether he has a claim in court.

Taking to Quora, he asked: "Can I sue my neighbour for hosting a BBQ in the neighborhood because I am vegan?" However, rather than receiving the sympathetic response he was likely expecting, he was given a 'reality check' by other social media users.

One user said: "Of course not. If the barbecue is taking place on their own property, they can do as they please. Why do you vegans act so entitled? You can eat how you please but quit telling other people what to do."

Another user added: "If you want to look like a fool in the court. If you want the entire neighborhood to mock, you every time you step out of your house. I hate the color gray; does this mean I can sue my neighbor for having gray hair?"

While another user encouraged him to sue his neighbour, saying: "Yes, of course you can! That's how our legal system works. This will obviously be a small claims issue but that us good since you won't need to hire a lawyer. All you have to do is fill out the paperwork and pay your fees for the suit.

"That being said, you won't win. The court staff will probably laugh themselves silly and post all about your idiocy on every form of social media. Since it is a lawsuit and therefore public record. They can feel free to post your personal information without fear of reprisals.

"So, by all means, please sue them! I can't wait to see your name and location plastered all over the internet! It will truly make my day watching the amount of vitriol directed at you for your stupidity and self-centered view of the world. You will for sure be the talk of the town, if not the country."
