'More twists': Sky Sports pundit now predicts the score when Leeds United face Stoke City tonight

David Prutton has shared his prediction for Leeds United’s clash with Stoke City this evening.

The Whites will be looking to return to winning ways after seeing their run of nine consecutive league matches come to an end with a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The result saw Leeds drop out of the automatic promotion places and with Ipswich Town looking relentless at the moment, it is imperative that Daniel Farke’s side pick up three points.

Stoke, meanwhile, picked up a much-needed win in their battle to beat the drop over Middlesbrough at the weekend and manager Steven Schumacher believes his side can exploit some of Leeds’ weaknesses today.

Writing in his latest EFL predictions column for Sky Sports, though, Prutton has tipped Leeds to earn a comfortable victory to keep the pressure on Ipswich in second.

Prutton backs Leeds to beat Stoke

He said: “The winning run wasn’t going to last forever, but Leeds will still be frustrated they weren’t able to see off a Huddersfield side reduced to 10 with more than half the game remaining. They have handed the impetus – ever so slightly – back to Ipswich. But there will be more twists to come.

“Stoke got a much-needed win over Middlesbrough at the weekend, and could haul themselves out of the bottom three with a result on Tuesday night. But I still can’t see them getting anything at Elland Road. Prediction: Leeds 2-0 Stoke.

Leeds will be looking forward to getting back to Elland Road as they look to maintain their unbeaten record at home, which has been the bedrock to the promotion push.

Stoke actually beat Leeds in the return fixture back in October with Patrick Bamford’s missed penalty proving crucial, and so the Whites will be keen to exact some revenge on tonight’s opponents.

A few of Leeds’ key players including Crysencio Summerville were not at their best at Huddersfield on Saturday. They will be determined to secure a quick return to form.
