Discussions are already believed to have taken place over extending the 31-year-old’s contractual stay in N17.

How many goals has Heung-min Son scored

Although the South Korean endured a difficult season last time out under Antonio Conte, he has quickly returned to his best under Postecoglou.

Although he has missed some time due to his participation in the Asian Cup, Son is just five goals off the league’s top scorer, Erling Haaland.

It has been a sensational campaign for Son who has also taken on the responsibility of becoming club captain following Harry Kane’s exit.

Postecoglou has already hailed Son for his ‘outstanding‘ leadership qualities shown since being handed the armband.

Despite turning 32 years of age in the summer, Son really isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.

And that will be a huge boost for Postecoglou who will view Son as a key part of his plans for the future.

His finish on the weekend received some high praise from the media and he may need to continue his goalscoring form if Spurs are to qualify for the Champions League.
