Sadly, Griff lost his life on Monday, March 4 in a boating incident.

Griff’s boat ‘capsized’

Outer Banks Voice states the “US Coast Guard received a report of an overdue vessel traveling from Virginia to Wanchese, NC.”

The report adds: “…the body of Charles Griffin Jr (Charlie Griffin) of Wanchese, NC and his dog (deceased) were recovered onshore near the same. The vessel appears to have capsized somewhere near Oregon Inlet.”

Griff was reportedly traveling with another person on board the boat who “officers are still searching for.”

Both he and his dog, Leila, lost their lives.

It is with the deepest sadness we report that Charlie Griffin and his beloved dog, Leila, have passed away in a boating…
