New slang describes a dating scenario we're all familiar with

New slang pops up on TikTok all the time and it’s hard to keep up with what it means. The latest one is ‘2 Man’ – which relates to dating.

What is a ‘2 Man’ on TikTok?

A ‘2 Man’ is when a girl and guy are hooking up but she asks to bring a friend. So, he responds by bringing a friend too.

This results in an unintentional double date, but the two friends don’t actually want to hook up with each other.

On TikTok, girls are claiming they love a ‘2 Man’, with one person writing: “Nothing better than a good 2 Man.”

“When someone mentions a 2 Man,” another two friends said while doing a happy dance.

However, men aren’t so keen on the idea, and it’s especially awkward for the second guy who doesn’t really want to be there.

He gets stuck talking to the girl’s friend while his mate cracks on with the other, so it’s a pretty annoying situation.

It’s not just a double date

Many internet users thought a ‘2 Man’ was just another way of saying a double date, but that’s not the case.

If two couples choose to go out together, that isn’t a ‘2 Man’ – the situation is to specifically help two people link up.

“You mean to tell me a ‘Two Man’ wasn’t just a double date?” one person wrote on TikTok.

Another said: “RIP to all the girls who thought a ‘2 Man’ meant a double date.”

The two friends could end up hitting it off, but that wasn’t the intended purpose of the ‘2 Man’.
