A Michigan man is behind bars after police say a card game dispute with a teenage boy turned violent.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25, the 14-year-old boy and 41-year-old Mark Stewart were playing cards in Midland, the Midland Daily News reported.
When the teen was about to win the game, Stewart accused him of cheating and allegedly put the teen in a headlock, police said.
During the scuffle, the teen tried to reach into his pocket and grab his phone so he could call 911, but Stewart knocked it away, according to authorities.
After a few minutes, the teen was able to get to his knees, but Stewart threw him back down and slapped him in the back of his head, the Midland Daily News reported, citing police.
The fight eventually subsided and the teen went to bed.
On Feb. 26, the teen told a school resource officer what allegedly occurred, and Stewart was arrested later in the day.
Stewart was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, interfering with electronic communications, second-offense domestic violence, and child abuse, officials said.

He was booked into the Midland County jail on a $200,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court for his probable cause hearing on March 12.
Officials did not disclose the relationship between the teen and Stewart, but Child Protective Services was notified of the alleged incident.
