'Hamster enthusiasts' and artists battle it out for $100,000 TV cash prize

It’s time to get stuck into another tough glass-blowing competition this March. Blown Away is back with a brand new batch of episodes on March 8. The season 4 cast hails from all over the world and they’re all ready to compete for a life-changing sum of money.

Ten newbies make up the Blown Away season 4 cast this year. The show’s host has switched up this year from Nick Uhas to Hunter March. Expert evaluator Katherine Gray returns for a fresh competition. Each episode, a challenge will see one contestant eliminated before one glass blower is crowned the winner and proud recipient of $100,000.

Season 4 kicks off on March 8 on Netflix and features artists competing to be the best in glass blowing, as well as a cash prize.

Robert G Burch

Artist and designer Robert G Burch showcases some of his work on his Instagram page.

Judging by his social media posts, Robert enjoys snowsports and has fans queueing up for his art pieces.

He sells his sculptures online, some of which have been featured at Burning Man festival.

Prices of Robert’s work range from $90 to $12,000.

Ryan Blythe

Another artist and designer ready to compete for a $100,000 prize this year is Ryan Blythe.

He describes himself on Instagram as a “glass art and designer who specializes in one of a kind glass sculptures and custom lighting.”

Ryan is located in Seattle, Washington.

Hayden Macrae

Blown Away season 4 cast member Hayden Macrae is doing so well in the art world he’s shipping art pieces out to Australia.

He writes on Instagram he has a: “…glassblowing studio based in Calgary, AB.”

Hayden not only creates art pieces himself but he also holds glassblowing classes, too.

Jonathan Capps

Netflix star Jonny is not only a glass blower, but he works as a university instructor, too.

He spent time studying in Finland and shares some of his art work on Instagram.

Arthur Wilson

Blown Away contestant Arthur Wilson writes in his IG bio he’s not only a “glass blower” but a “hermit crab groomer” and creator of wood tools.

Another Blown Away contestant ready to create all kinds of sculptures in a bid to “be the best” is Morgan.

She’s a self-proclaimed “Point Break and The Office expert” when she’s not creating intriguing art.

Ryan Thompson

Blown Away contestant Ryan Thompson runs a glass store called Greenfield Village Glass Shop.

He shares glimpses of some of his creations on the ‘gram including candlesticks, goblets, and cups.

Quade Leana

Ready to create art pieces like there’s no tomorrow is another Blown Away contestant, Quade Leana.

She shares many snaps of her eye-catching work on Instagram, as well as some “smash therapy” videos of her breaking apart items she’s made.

Karen Willenbrink Johnsen

Karen Willenbrink Johnsen shared a heartwarming IG post following her time on Blown Away.

She shared how she made great friends during the process and posted snaps of herself working alongside fellow contestant Gemma Hollister.

Karen shares some of her life outside of glass blowing on the ‘gram, too. She posts pictures of her gardening triumphs as well as celebratory posts to her loved ones.

Last, but by no means, least, fans can get to know Blown Away star Gemma Hollister on the ‘gram.

She writes in her bio she’s a “full-time glassblower” and “professional hamster enthusiast.”

Gemma is based in Philadelphia and has a page dedicated to her glasswork – @antoliniglassco.

She also shares a link to her website in her bio which showcases more of her work.
